Combined Cadet Force
The broad function of the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) is that of a youth movement sponsored by Her Majesty's Armed Forces, to provide a challenging environment in Brompton Academy so that students may develop power of Leadership by means of opportunities and training to promote self-reliance, responsibility, resourcefulness, endurance, perseverance and a sense of service to the community.
CCF at BA
The CCF is a voluntary after-school organistation open to students in Year 8 and above (students must be aged 12+). Students in the CCF are known as Cadets and whilst they undertake military training, the emphasis is on teamwork, leadership, development and enjoyment. The main aim of the CCF is to offer cadets a truly enjoyable and fulfilling experience. The activities are a mix of military and adventurous training. Topics that will be covered are Foot Drill, First Aid, Map Reading, Self-Reliance and Fieldcraft, as well as Adventure Training.
Mandatory training takes place on Tuesday’s after school, running from 3:10pm - 4:45pm. Throughout the training year there will be training days and ranges. It is proposed that there will be one weekend's training per term and all training is progressive and culminates in a Summer Camp.
At an optional cost we can offer BTEC Level 1 in Teamwork, Personal Skills and Citizenship
The BTEC Level 1 training and development courses enable young people to:
Develop knowledge, understanding and skills that support their personal and career interests into employment
Develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in education and in working life
Achieve a nationally recognised Edexcel/Pearson Level 1 BTEC qualification
Access programmes of study that can enable progression to a Level 2 qualification
All dates and costs are subject to change and will be confirmed before booking and payment is required.
