Business Studies Trip to NYC

A five-day trip to New York helped expand the cultutal horizon of a group of our sixth form students.

The staff of Brompton Academy escorted tseven students stateside, some for the first time, and allowed them to taake in almost every aspect the 'Big Apple' has to offer.

As well as all the fun things to do in the city, like looking out from the top of cultural icons like the Empire State building, there was a visit to the historical Liberty island, followed by a unique experience – enjoying multi-level pizzas.

Although the trip involved a lot of walking, the students coped extremely well, and loved strolling through Central Park and gazing out at the world from the top of the Rockefeller Center.

On a more emotional note, students also were able to pay their respects at the 911 Memorial site and visit the museum – a moving experience for us all.

Students even had some time for designer shopping at one of the biggest outlet stores, followed by the opportunity to eat some fabulous American traditional food.

Overall, the whistle-stop tour of one of the world’s finest and most important cities was an eye-opener for many of us when all those movie and television images of Time Square were suddenly turned into a neon reality.
