Year 7 Student Mindfulness

Year 7 students have been taking part in Mindfulness lessons with Jo Price and Angela Daly following the ".b" course.

Students enjoyed participating in mindful eating and savoured the moment with one single malteaser! The purpose of this exercise was to teach students about the benefits of eating mindfully and enjoying the moment. We also used raw onion as a polar opposite example of how sometimes we anticipate and create thoughts and emotions about something we anticipate that we won’t like or enjoy.

Lessons have also included Moving Mindfully (Keeping your head on your shoulders), and stepping back (watching the thought traffic of your mind).

If you recall an experience that is negative, do you choose to ride that thought bus, or would you choose to ride a positive thought bus?

How is your head traffic? What thought-buses have taken you for a ride in the last few days?
