Duke of Edinburgh

On Saturday 5th May, our Silver DofE students attended their practice expedition in Dover. The students spent 21 hours walking and navigating during the course of the bank holiday weekend, they cooked their own meals and spent the night camping in tents. It was a very hot and challenging weekend, however students showed real determination and team work throughout the whole expedition and were great ambassadors for the Academy. We wish them good luck for their assessed weekend at the end of May. to see some more fantastic pictures of the weekend go to the DofE webpage http://www.bromptonacademy.org.uk/49/the-duke-of-edinburghs-award

We also enjoyed an excellent Awards ceremony at Rochester Cathedral this term.  We were very proud to witness many students receiving their certificates for achieving the Bronze and Silver DofE Awards.  Once again our students were dressed very smartly and were an excellent representation of our young people at Brompton Academy.  Also a huge well done to two of our students, BA Ambassador Charlotte and Chris for helping to host the event.
