Jamie's Farm ASDA Bag Packing

On Saturday 6th May 2017, 12 Brompton Academy Jamie’s Farm students bag packed to raise funds for their trip to Jamie’s Farm, Wiltshire. This trip gives the students an opportunity to work as part of a team and experience life on a working farm. Students also get the amazing opportunity to work with a qualified chef using products that are grown on the farm.

We arrived at ASDA for 9am, the students were raring to go! Students were positioned at the end of every other till and at the doors ready to capture any customers, with a smile and a courteous greeting.

Business was slow to start off with and Brompton Academy staff and students were getting a little worried that the fundraising would be minimal, however come 11am and the store was heaving with customers!

Even with the customers bringing their own bags they still asked for them to be packed and if they didn’t they still contributed. The generosity they showed and compliments they gave to the students was amazing.

At 4pm we rounded everybody up and the students were collected by their parents/carers. A great day was had by all and an outstanding figure of £787.50 was raised.

We are truly thankful to ASDA for supporting Brompton Academy Jamie’s Farm students.
