Design Technology Carousel (18 lessons)

Students will be following the design process to design and make healthy meals. These will include the following;

Healthy sandwiches

Fruit smoothies

Pasta salad

Mini pizza

Bread & soup

Health and safety

Nutritional values based on the Eatwell Guide plate

Phase One Food Technology Year 8

Design Technology Carousel (18 lessons)

Students will be following the design process to design and make healthy meals. These will include the following:

Baking skills based on picnic foods

Pastries 

Cakes

Biscuits

Scones

Phase Two GCSE Food Technology Key Skills Year 9

Term one: Analysis of nutritional foods

Term two: Festive meals

Term three: Cultural foods

Term four: Mini GCSE project - design process

Term five: Mini GCSE project - design process

Term six: Mini GCSE project - design process

Phase Two GCSE Food Technology Key Skills Year 10

Term one: Proteins and multi cultural meals

Term two: Carbohydrates in a balanced meal

Term three: Nutritional uses fruit and vegetables - ‘5 a day’ 

Term four: Dairy and allergies 

Term five: Sweets and alternatives

Term six: Skills in combining foods

The GCSE groups are studying AQA Food Technology.

60% coursework

40% written exam  

Exam Board is AQA
