Year 7 Literacy and Numeracy Catch - Up Premium

In 2016/2017 we are using these funds to target Year 7 students who at Key Stage 2 did not achieve the national standard in English or Mathematics. The Transitions Curriculum is a literacy rich curriculum designed in collaboration with Upper Key Stage 2 English specialists, where a team of six staff will support these students for ten hours a week in their learning. Early identification of needs through deliberate diagnostics in English and Mathematics enables staff to assess the individual needs of students and  their specific interventions: tailored curriculum; Mentor support; University of Kent ambassador support; 1:1 or small group intervention; homework support club; further diagnostics required; to name but a few.
