What is the Football Academy?

It’s an opportunity for students to be coached and train regularly throughout the week whilst completing a Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Sport (2 A levels equivalent) and another subject of their choice (2 A levels equivalent).

Who can apply?

 

  • Anyone with football ability to at least Sunday league level, preferred district level. Players with a passion for football and want to improve essential skills within the game. 

  • Only players from the age of 16 and 17 years of age as at 31st August in any season will be eligible to apply.

  • Year 11 students who will be leaving at the end of the academic year. 

  • Entry will be by formal interview and a practical assessment (trial). References from suitable people (PE teachers, club, district, County, etc) are welcomed. 

Course Information

In addition to the football programme, players will be also study full time at Brompton Academy. The students will be expected to choose from the following options;

Option 1

BTEC National Diploma in Sport (2 A Levels equivalent) 

Total = 2 A Level

Option 2

BTEC National Diploma (2 A Levels equivalent) in Maths, Business studies, Photography, EQP and Sociology, Physics, Public services, Media studies, Health and Social care, Geography and Sports Leaders Award. More options could be available during 2015/2016.

Students will also be provided with opportunities to take part in a number of coaching qualifications, leadership awards and officiating awards as previously mentioned.
