The Eliot Centre (Communications Centre) provides specialist teaching and support for up to 100 students identified as having specific learning needs in the areas of literacy and communication. These students are allocated their places via the Local Authorities Special Education Team.

The Eliot Centre offers a nurturing environment linked to small group, specialist teaching and therapy.  Lessons are taught in an environment that supports communication impairment in areas including Speech and Language Impairment (SLI), Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Specific learning Difficulties (Dyslexia). The Eliot Centre teaching team works closely with our in house Speech and Language Therapist and other outside agencies to provide intervention programmes tailored to the needs of our students both in class and in small group sessions.
Eliot Centre students are fully involved in the life of Brompton Academy and are affiliated to other Mini Schools. The students integrate within the mainstream for options from Year 9 but continue to have small group teaching for core subjects. The Eliot Centre provides strong pastoral support aiming to develop self esteem, confidence and independence for our students’ futures.
