Brompton Academy

You are reminded that all applicants for a place in this school should have taken the Fair Banding Test.  If your child did not do this and you wish to appeal for a place in Year 7, then you should have a very good reason with supporting evidence to verify this.

This school is very popular and is the most over-subscribed school in Medway.

Once you have registered for an appeal you will be sent a letter and asked to contact the school by the end of March 2019 to be given an appeal date and time. If the school does not hear from you, then it will be assumed that you do no longer wish to appeal for a place. You are advised to contact the school for a hearing date, as soon as possible if you seriously wish your appeal to continue.  Dates for appeals in 2019 will be announced in the near future.

You are advised to remain on the school’s waiting list by contacting Medway Council. Between March and September a number of places are usually declined.

Your appeal should state your reasons for your request and any additional information/documentation/appendices should be submitted five days before the appeal to allow time for it to be copied and distributed to all the interested parties. At least 10 working days before your appeal, unless you choose to waive this right, you will be sent detailed information regarding the process and also the date, time, place and names of the independent panel members who will hear the appeal.

This school is heavily over-subscribed and it is important that you prepare your case very carefully taking note of the guidance that will be sent to you.

All other appeals known as ‘in-year’ casual admissions and ones for Year 7 submitted after 31st March will be heard within 30 days of submitting the request.

The school is unable to guarantee that any original work/evidence/folders, submitted as part of the appeal, will be returned. Appellants may wish to submit copies in advance and then take important original documents verifying evidence to the appeal.

Appellants are respectfully asked to note that an excessive amount of supporting evidence should not be necessary. Guidance regarding this matter will be given once the appeal has been submitted.

If you have any queries regarding appeals, then please contact Mrs Hodgson at the school who will be able to help you.  Mrs Hodgson can be contacted via or telephone 01634 852341.
